When Lewis McMenamy decided to sell his restaurant, he was looking for local people to run the place and these’ were perfect and fit the bill, they’re all local Falmouth people. Mr.Carlos Santos who was born and raised in Viseu, Portugal came to Falmouth when he was eleven years old. He has remained in Falmouth ever since becoming a well known Soccer player and graduating from Falmouth High School. Recently he owned Carlos Santo Siding Company which he dissolved so he could assume the daytime operations at McMenamy’s. Mr. Santo’s lives and Falmouth with his wife and son and is a local Soccer Coach and team player. Mr.Mark Leger is a lifelong Falmouth resident and lives here with his wife and three children. He graduated from Falmouth high school in 1981, a year after Mr. Santos, and then attended Plymouth State College in New Hampshire. After finishing his education he returned to Falmouth where he pursued a career in construction. He ran Resources Construction LLC in East Falmouth for ten years before collaborating with Mr. Cenzalli who owns Five C’s Building Associates Incorporated. Mark and Dennis worked on spec houses for three years until Mr. Leger formed his own company, Ledger Tile and Hardwood, several years ago. When Mr. Cenzalli approached Mark and Carlos about purchasing McMenamy’s together Mr. Leger said “it was a no-brainer.” The three had discussed the possibility for so long it only seemed fitting to accept the opportunity when it came. Through the years these “” have become close friends, working on construction projects together while always knowing that owning a restaurant was a shared goal. Now that goal has been achieved the three have split their responsibilities as evenly as possible. Carlos works during the day focusing on ordering the food and supplies and scheduling. Both Mark and Dennis continue to operate their two construction companies. At night one of them relieves Carlos and the three all share weekend duties. In addition Mark handles accounting and Mrs. Santos assists with the bookkeeping, Dennis oversees the maintenance of the restaurant. |
